The DECT 6.0 network is one of the more advanced cordless frequency systems and is fully digital. Because it is a network, your satellite handsets do not require any physical connection to the base station. They simply sit in a cradle to charge up anywhere in your house and you can expand this system up to a few extra units, although it comes with 2 handsets. The range for the handset is about 100 feet or more. At 90 feet, I started to hear some minor interference but nothing dramatic. The audio quality during calls is exceptional. There is an Eco Mode that gives up to 13 hours of talk time and decreases/increases signal strength based on the proximity to the base station, but I haven't tried talking for 13 hours straight. It comes with Ni-Mh AAA batteries instead of proprietary battery packs. This gives you the option to buy replacement AAA NiMH rechargeable...
